Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Structural Engineer to join our team. This role requires a Structural Engineering Degree and at least two years of experience. The successful candidate will be involved in forensic engineering, supporting owners and developers in legal actions related to faulty construction.

Responsibilities

• Travel to job sites across New Jersey.
• Work under the direction of a Project Manager to inspect beams, draw sketches, and create drawings.
• Conduct site surveys and inspections; participate in site walkthroughs with Project Engineers and Inspectors.
• Write detailed reports.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop repair plans and specifications.
• Work alongside Professional Engineers and Licensed Architects to build cases against contractors.
• Utilize AutoCAD to draft/design drawings for future construction.
• Input information using Bluebeam software.

Essential Skills

• Structural Engineering Degree.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to draft and design structural projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD.
• Experience in the field on construction sites.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Site Analysis Report Writing.
• Experience in building-related engineering.
• Ability to communicate independently with clients.
• 0-1 years of professional experience; strong internship or construction-related experience is a plus.

Work Environment

Join a 10-person operation in a modern design studio, utilizing the latest versions of Revit and AutoCAD. Enjoy a relaxed culture with accountability, low turnover, and a collaborative team environment. Engage in leisure activities like playing Xbox and BBQs on Fridays. Office hours are 8-5, with some evening meetings for senior engineers. Employees receive a laptop and cellphone, and there is flexibility.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Brunswick, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.86/hr.
