What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Distribution Engineer position at Actalent?
🔧 What You’ll Do
- Design and develop construction work packages for overhead and underground electrical distribution systems(4kV–138kV).
- Conduct field inspections and return to the office to translate findings into actionable engineering designs.
- Perform engineering calculations including pole loading, guying, voltage drop, and flicker analysis.
- Create permitting documents and coordinate with local authorities.
- Support construction teams and conduct post-construction reviews to ensure quality and compliance.
- Investigate outages and apply engineering principles to develop reliable, long-term solutions.
🧠 What You Bring
- An ABET accredited BS degree in electrical, mechanical or civil engineering
- Familiarity with CAD tools(e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, SolidWorks, Inventor, MATLAB, etc.).
- A passion for solving technical problems and a desire to grow in a collaborative, safety-first environment.
- Interest in working on a variety of projects: OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Lighting.
🌍 Work Environment
- Office-based with regular field visits—get the best of both worlds.
- Full training provided in engineering and construction standards.
- Gain real-world experience inutility coordination, permitting, and design.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.32 - $29.32/hr.
