Job Description

The Embedded Software Engineer will primarily focus on new product development projects, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing embedded firmware from conception through production start. This role involves collaboration with the engineering team to determine product improvement plans and liaising with Marketing, Project Management, and other cross-functional team members to achieve business and product objectives. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering consumer-friendly products, detail-oriented, and meticulous about documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and document embedded firmware or embedded software.
• Collaborate with internal and external resources on design optimization.
• Assist in the component selection process.
• Plan and create effective test protocols to verify and validate engineering designs to meet product requirements.
• Support general software requests from other departments, such as sales and technical support.
• Utilize a combination of logic, experience, analysis, and methodologies to make solid, timely decisions and solve problems.

Essential Skills

• Embedded C and C programming.
• Linux OS system
• Experience in firmware development for at least 2 years working with microcroncontrollers
• Knowledge of communication protocols such as Bluetooth, WiFi, and USB.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Hardware design experience nice to have.
• New product development experience.
• Experience in industrial and/or HVAC products, including motors, pumps, sensors, IoT, and wireless communication.

Work Environment

The work environment is a large office-type facility with approximately 35 individuals on site, including about 6 engineers. It features various test rooms and fosters a tight-knit team atmosphere. The facility is newer and serves as the new product development center for an established company. The role offers subject matter expertise and flexibility in making product design decisions.

This is a Contract position based out of Miramar, FL.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.

This is a hybrid position in Miramar,FL.
