Job Title: Embedded Controls Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a candidate with a strong experience in Control Theory and embedded systems to join our team. The successful candidate will design, implement, and maintain software and firmware algorithms required for operating precision variable frequency drives (VFDs).

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, debug, and provide ongoing support for operating system and application software that meets technical and customer requirements.
• Adhere to established coding and revision control standards.
• Solicit and incorporate customer and end-user feedback to further improve products.
• Conduct and participate in code and design reviews.
• Champion new ideas and features, big or small, in a respectful manner.
• Document designs with ample comments, reports, and descriptions.
• Track and resolve reported bugs and perform thorough testing to verify the effectiveness of fixes.
• Design and develop reusable software and system components, and integrate them into existing and new designs.
• Work closely with electrical hardware engineers in the planning, design, and development of products to ensure software and hardware performance and compatibility.
• Serve as a technical lead on assigned projects, collaborating with other functional groups and customers to meet deliverables, and to address and resolve technology or product issues.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering. A plus would be with an emphasis on Control of Electric Motors and/or DC/DC converters.
• Strong Experience in control theory and its application to engineering problems.
• Solid understanding of basic physics.
• Expertise with Matlab/Simulink.
• Experience with real-time Operating Systems.
• Proficiency in Verilog HDL code.
• Experience with C/C and embedded software development.
• Experience with GIT.
• 3 years of related experience.

This is a Permanent position based out of Caledonia, WI.

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00/yr.
