Job Title: Mission Computer Subsystem and Hardware Design Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Mission Computer Subsystem and Hardware Design Engineer to support the entire product lifecycle, including requirements analysis, systems design, lab design/specification, integration testing, flight tests, technical sub-contractor management, field support, and customer interactions. The role involves developing and documenting moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements, designing hardware, software, and interface specifications, and ensuring system designs meet operational and functional requirements. Additionally, the engineer will assist in monitoring supplier performance for system integration compliance and solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software.
Responsibilities
- Develop and document moderately complex electronic and electrical system requirements.
- Design hardware, software, and interface specifications.
- Test and validate to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
- Assist in monitoring supplier performance to ensure system integration and compliance with requirements.
- Solve problems concerning fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
- Research specific technology advances and potential applications to business needs.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor's degree and typically 2 or more years' experience in an engineering classification, or a Master's degree with experience in an engineering classification.
- 2 years of experience with hardware and LRU development, test, and qualification.
- Knowledge in subsystem design, requirement allocation, and technical supplier management.
- Critical analysis and problem-solving skills across systems, hardware, and software architecture.
- Practical experience with lab equipment for hardware development, troubleshooting, and data capture.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Military aircraft program experience.
- Knowledge of MIL-STD-1553B, ARINC-429, and Ethernet architecture.
- Experience with agile development.
- Leadership, team building, and mentoring skills.
Work Environment
The work schedule is full-time with 9-hour days on the 1st shift, typically starting at 8 am with some flexibility. While overtime and domestic travel may be possible, international travel is not required. A U.S. Person is required for purposes of Export Compliance, though a security clearance is not mandatory to start.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Oklahoma City, OK.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
