Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description

This role is pivotal in new product development, encompassing the entire lifecycle from concept and design through testing, manufacturing, and production support. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on electrical design experience, strong documentation skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a manufacturing-focused environment. The company serves diverse industries, including building automation, HVAC, lighting, electrical, fire & safety, wireless, and power monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support new product development efforts from initial concept through production release.
• Conduct research, breadboarding, troubleshooting, and validation of new electrical designs.
• Develop and maintain electrical schematics, PCB layouts, and design documentation.
• Create and manage parts within eCAD software systems.
• Export eCAD files for SMT placement and BOM data to ERP systems.
• Provide detailed manufacturing documentation, drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Support prototype testing, documenting test parameters, and updating standard testing processes.
• Assist with production support, test equipment support, and technical sales support as needed.
• Participate in engineering team meetings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical assistance to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Perform additional engineering duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable Engineering discipline.
• Experience designing in Fusion 360 or similar systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical design fundamentals and product development processes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior experience in product design or new product development.
• Experience with PCB layout, schematic capture, and manufacturing handoff.
• Knowledge of machines, tools, and their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Understanding of design techniques and principles used to create technical drawings, blueprints, and models.

Work Environment

This is a fully onsite role in a manufacturing and engineering environment. Collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and commercial teams is essential. This is a Permanent position based out of Sharpsville, IN.

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
