Position Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Designer / Electrical Design Engineer with 2–4 years of experience to join our Rancho Cordova office. This role supports the design and documentation of electrical systems for a wide variety of public and private sector projects. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in electrical design and drafting, strong communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced consulting environment.

This position offers exposure to diverse project types, hands‑on design responsibility, and opportunities for professional growth while working alongside experienced engineers and project managers.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and drafting of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting layouts, fire alarm systems, and low‑voltage systems, under the direction of senior engineers.
• Prepare and update construction documents, drawings, and details using AutoCAD (Revit and BIM experience is a plus).
• Perform lighting and photometric calculations, layouts, and analysis to support lighting design and energy efficiency goals.
• Develop and assist with energy compliance documentation in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
• Coordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplines to ensure integrated and constructible solutions.
• Support project teams through all phases of design, from schematic design through construction documents.
• Participate in internal design reviews and apply feedback to improve drawing accuracy and quality.
• Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and other team members to meet project goals, schedules, and budgets.

Required Qualifications

• 2–4 years (±) of experience in electrical design and drafting within an engineering or consulting environment.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit and BIM workflows is highly desirable.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems design, including power, lighting, fire alarm, and/or low‑voltage systems.
• Experience or exposure to energy compliance documentation and photometric analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly convey technical information.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of RANCHO CORDOVA, CA.

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in RANCHO CORDOVA,CA.
