Job Title: Electrical Designer

Job Description

Design cost-effective control systems for custom machinery, including component selection, circuit design, safety analysis, and technical documentation. Understand and adhere to project specifications, including mechanical and software requirements, to implement suitable hardware solutions. Generate electrical schematics, process & instrumentation diagrams, and control panel layouts. Communicate effectively with purchasing to ensure accurate and timely procurement of commercial components. Coordinate with shop personnel during the electrical assembly of control systems and machines. Ensure electrical designs and assembly adhere to relevant regulatory standards. Support control system start-up and debug. Complete redline changes to create documentation turn-over packages.

Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to project specifications, including mechanical and software requirements, to implement suitable hardware solutions.
• Generate electrical schematics, process & instrumentation diagrams, and control panel layouts.
• Communicate effectively with purchasing to ensure accurate and timely procurement of commercial components.
• Coordinate with shop personnel during the electrical assembly of control systems and machines.
• Ensure electrical designs and assembly adhere to relevant regulatory standards.
• Support control system start-up and debug.
• Complete redline changes to create documentation turn-over packages.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in electrical design and engineering.
• Experience with AutoCAD Electrical and SolidWorks Electrical.
• Ability to design control panels and generate electrical schematics.
• Understanding of UL and NEC standards.
• Experience with PLCs, motion controllers, and I/O systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years experience in preparing engineering documentation including Electrical Schematics, Bills of Material, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, and Operator Maintenance.
• Minimum 2 years experience in designing electrical control systems for industrial machinery, including power distribution, PLC configuration, and machine safety.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
