Job Description
The EHS Manager leads and maintains the organization’s safety and risk management programs across community-based and correctional settings. This role ensures compliance with California safety regulations, trains staff, supports incident prevention and response, and promotes a trauma-informed culture of safety. Regular travel across California is required, with occasional travel to Arizona.
Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain safety and risk management programs.
- Ensure compliance with California safety regulations (Cal/OSHA, IIPP, WVPP/SB 553).
- Train staff on safety protocols and procedures.
- Support incident prevention and response.
- Promote a trauma-informed culture of safety.
Essential Skills
- Experience in safety and EHS management.
- OSHA certification.
- Proficiency in building out programs and IIPP.
- Experience in reducing claims.
- Knowledge of environmental health and safety programs.

Work Environment
The work environment involves an open space with the potential to retreat to an office for meetings or calls. The company has a startup-like culture with about 200 employees, focused on giving back to underserved communities. The team size is 2, and the dress code is business casual. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM in Downtown Los Angeles.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.86 - $40.86/hr.
