About the Opportunity

Join a growing engineering and manufacturing organization that designs and manufactures high-performance products for aerospace, industrial, and transit industries. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented Drafter who enjoys working closely with engineering teams to create and maintain technical drawings, bills of materials, and engineering documentation.

The ideal candidate will have strong AutoCAD experience and be comfortable supporting engineering change processes in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and revise mechanical and electrical assembly drawings using AutoCAD.
• Add dimensions, tables, notes, and other details to existing engineering drawings.
• Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and update associated documentation.
• Prepare complete drawing packages and supporting technical documentation.
• Verify dimensions, material specifications, and assembly requirements.
• Support configuration management and document control activities.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with engineering standards.
• Work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to implement design changes.

Required Qualifications

• Experience using AutoCAD in a drafting or design environment.
• Ability to create and modify assembly drawings.
• Experience creating and maintaining Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Experience processing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SolidWorks.
• Mechanical and/or electrical drafting experience.
• Manufacturing or aerospace industry experience.
• Familiarity with configuration management and document control processes.
• Understanding of engineering standards and drawing practices.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Plainview, NY.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $37.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
