The position offers hands-on involvement with both mechanical and basic electrical integration, close collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams, and exposure to real-world troubleshooting and product development in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and revise detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings using SolidWorks to support production needs.
- Create accurate production drawings for mechanical assemblies, with a primary emphasis on sheet metal components.
- Support basic electrical design integration by assisting with routing layouts for wiring harnesses and cable management.
- Incorporate electrical components such as sensors, lights, switches, and controls into mechanical assemblies and ensure proper interface points.
- Update drawings to reflect electrical and mechanical interface details and design changes as needed.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure design accuracy, manufacturability, and adherence to standards.
- Conduct hands-on evaluations on the production floor to verify part dimensions and tolerances against design specifications.
- Ensure compliance with design specifications, drawing standards, and applicable drafting practices during manufacturing.
- Identify and resolve design-related issues that arise during the manufacturing process by working directly with production personnel.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by proposing ideas and solutions to enhance design quality and production efficiency.
- Interpret mechanical assembly drawings and communicate clearly with cross-functional teams to support smooth production workflows.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical integration challenges on the shop floor with a practical, solutions-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks for mechanical drafting, 2D and 3D modeling, and part design.
- Experience creating and interpreting mechanical assembly drawings for production use.
- Knowledge of ANSI drafting standards and the ability to apply them consistently in drawings.

- Understanding of mechanical and electrical integration in equipment or vehicle environments.
- Strong team player with effective verbal and written communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Comfort working in a collaborative, open-office engineering setting.
- Ability to contribute ideas that support continuous improvement in both design and production processes.
This role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces street sweeper vehicles, offering direct exposure to the production floor and real-world manufacturing processes. You will work closely with engineering and production teams in a collaborative, open-office environment that encourages communication and teamwork. The company has approximately 200 employees and operates across two shifts, providing a stable yet dynamic setting.
