Job Description
As a Drafter/Designer, you will be integral in supporting diverse engineering projects. You will utilize your skills in AutoCAD and project management to design and manage gas utility projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret drawings and standards to analyze and solve problems.
- Utilize computer applications such as AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Assist in gas engineering and design.
- Design and manage gas utility projects using effective project management techniques.
- Ensure engineering designs comply with policies, procedures, and regulatory codes.
- Prepare drawings, permits, easements, and other relevant documents.
- Document projects in computerized systems.
- Work a flexible schedule, including overtime and local travel, as needed.
- Complete Learning Management System (LMS) modules prior to due dates.
- Comply with all safety standards and practices.
- Monitor and address items in Hold/In-Service/Supplemental Reports in a timely manner.
- Submit timesheets and expense reports on their due dates.
- Understand and follow incident reporting procedures.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in drafting and design.
- Experience with AutoCAD (1 year).
- Experience working on horizontal projects such as pipeline, utilities, or telecom (1 year).
- Knowledge of construction, design, engineering, and CAD.
- Strong team commitment, motivation, and positive outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate level degree or higher in CAD Drafting, Engineering Technology, or equivalent.
Work Environment
You will work with a dynamic team in the Pittsburgh office, interacting with other drafters, designers, and engineers. This role offers hybrid flexibility, requiring in-office presence only 2-3 days per week. The office is located downtown, providing a vibrant working environment.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $36.00/hr.
