Job Title: DevSecOps Platform Engineer

Job Description

As a DevSecOps Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining secure DevSecOps infrastructure to support multiple aerospace and defense programs. Your role will involve automation, CI/CD pipeline management, system administration, and ensuring compliance with STIG/CMMC standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and build DevSecOps infrastructure.
• Administer Linux (Red Hat) and virtualized environments.
• Automate provisioning and configuration using Ansible/Terraform.
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines, utilizing tools such as Git.
• Perform system hardening and ensure STIG compliance.
• Script automation tasks using Python and Bash.
• Maintain and manage DevOps servers, including patching, access control, and compliance.
• Troubleshoot system issues independently.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to address platform needs.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Linux, particularly Red Hat Linux.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
• Ability to maintain CI/CD pipelines and ensure system compliance.
• 5-7 years of experience in a defense enviroment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
• Excellent communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in a CMMC/STIG-driven environment.
• DevOps or platform/systems engineering is preferred.
• Interest in transitioning from development to infrastructure roles.

Work Environment

The role is part of a team of 8 software engineers supporting 4 programs, focusing on upgrading and modernizing multiple systems and tools. It is a hybrid role that combines DevSecOps and Platform/Systems Engineering responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on automation and system reliability.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.

The pay range for this position is $79.32 - $91.34/hr.
