  • Support the launch of new equipment and retrofits, ensuring proper installation, integration, and functionality of automated systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks using CMMS software and recommend improvements to maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Interpret electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic schematics to identify root causes and implement effective repairs.
  • Respond quickly to production issues, prioritize work orders, and minimize downtime across automated production lines.
  • Collaborate closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to communicate equipment status and coordinate repairs.
  • Apply strong mechanical skills to service and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with automated equipment.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance equipment reliability, safety, and performance.
  • Document maintenance activities, updates to programs, and equipment changes in the CMMS and other required systems.
  • Provide technical guidance and informal leadership to peers and operators when troubleshooting complex automation and control issues.

Essential Skills

  • Associate’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, such as a journeyman card plus approximately 5 years of relevant work.

  • Experience in an automotive or high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with HMIs and vision systems used in automated production lines.
  • Experience in automation, controls, or electronics maintenance.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment focused on continuous learning and skills growth in PLC and robotic troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with a focus on root cause analysis and long-term corrective actions.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and production demands.

This position is based in an automotive manufacturing facility on the second shift, typically from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. The role involves working around automated production lines, robotics, PLC-controlled equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, and other industrial machinery.
