Controls Technician

As a Controls Technician, you will be responsible for interpreting PLC ladder logic and troubleshooting electrical control systems, including PLCs, robotics, servos, drives, and touch-screens using a laptop. You will work with brands such as Allen Bradley, GE, and Siemens.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and troubleshoot electrical control systems using PLC ladder logic.
• Fabricate and wire electrical panels and terminal boxes.
• Read and update electrical and pneumatic schematics.
• Develop continuous improvement plans to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Perform formal root cause analysis effectively.
• Operate power shop tools and common hand tools.
• Engage in continued growth and development to learn new technologies.
• Stand and/or walk for 90% of an 8-hour day, including climbing ladders or steps.
• Comply with Electrical Arc Flash Safety and Lock Out Tag Out training requirements.

• 5 years of experience in industrial electrical controls or equivalent education.
• Working knowledge of the National Electric Code.
• Basic understanding of Ohm’s Law and Kirchhoff’s Law.
• Solid PC computing skills.
• Proficiency in PLC programming, electrical troubleshooting, and automation.
• Experience with robotics, particularly Fanuc, Allen Bradley, and Siemens PLCs.
• Ability to interpret electrical and control schematics.
• Ability to navigate through software and ladder logic.

• 2-year technical degree in electronics/PLC troubleshooting (Associates degree) is preferred.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to meet vision and hearing requirements.
• Must pass a written and practical electrical test.

You will work in a large industrial manufacturing environment, covering over 1 million square feet. Personal protective equipment such as steel-toed boots and safety glasses is required. The role demands meeting specific vision and hearing standards while adhering to safety protocols.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Oxford, North Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
