Job Description

We are seeking a mid-level Controls & Instrumentation Engineer to support a variety of projects ranging from small studies to multi-million dollar turn-key supply. The ideal candidate should be team-oriented, organized, and capable of communicating effectively across all levels of the organization. The role demands the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Detail electrical specifications for part/equipment selection, accounting for 50-60% of the role.
• Program PLCs, with a focus on Allen Bradley PLCs, though experience with other PLCs is also acceptable, making up 40-50% of the role.
• Engage in HMI programming using FactoryTalk or similar platforms.
• Contribute to the design of control systems and ensure the proper specification of equipment.
• Collaborate on automation and controls engineering projects.
• Travel to customer sites for meetings, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting, which may involve over 30% travel.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in PLC programming, particularly Allen Bradley PLCs.
• Experience with industrial control and instrumentation.
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer Science, or Mechatronics from an ABET accredited engineering program.
• Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance (one is not needed to start)
• At least 4 years of experience in controls/electrical engineering, including code writing using Rockwell or any other PLC.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with FactoryTalk or any other HMI programming.
• Experience with electronics, instrumentation, control and data acquisition systems.
• Familiarity with variable frequency drive systems, motion control systems, sensors, transmitters, actuators, PID control, and communication networks.
• Comfortable with some travel (up to 20-25%)

Work Environment

The role requires on-site presence with half days on Fridays. The standard workweek is Monday through Friday, totaling 40 hours with little to no overtime. The work involves using control devices such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), servo drives, industrial instrumentation, and data acquisition measurement systems. The position may require travel to customer sites for various project phases.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greenville, SC.

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $57.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Greenville,SC.
