Job Description
As a Controls Engineer, you will design, develop, install, and support industrial control systems and Human Machine Interface (HMI) applications within industrial and manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems and HMI applications.
- Install and support industrial control systems.
- Read and interpret P&ID drawings and electrical schematics.
- Program Rockwell PLCs and develop FactoryTalk View ME applications from scratch.
- Troubleshoot and add new features to existing HMI applications.
- Interface directly with customers and panel builders, requiring strong communication skills.
- Collaborate with the Engineering and Electrical Panel teams.
- Degree in EMET, EE, EET, or Automation Technology.
- Experience with control system design and PLC programming.
- Hands-on experience with Rockwell PLCs and FactoryTalk View ME application development.
- Experience making production equipment or lines work.
- Ability to develop control systems from scratch.
- Strong communication and customer-facing skills.
- Experience with Allen Bradley PLC, HMI, and FactoryTalk SCADA/MES.
- Skills in electrical troubleshooting, robotics, design, and schematic reading.
- Experience with Siemens PLC is a plus.
The work environment is primarily within the Engineering office and involves regular interaction with Electricians and panel builders. The atmosphere is laid-back, with a dress code of nice slacks and a golf polo. Some local travel is required. This position offers a contract-to-hire opportunity, providing exposure to multiple engineering companies. You will have autonomy in the entire control panel design process. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
