Job Title: Equipment Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer to support our real-time logistics operations. In this role, you will work closely with our automotive parts and sub-assembly teams to ensure efficient and effective manufacturing processes. You will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and implementing solutions within a material handling environment, and for developing and designing equipment to support assembly operations. This position offers a long-term opportunity with potential for upward mobility into management roles.

Responsibilities

• Identify, justify, source, and implement solutions within a material handling environment.
• Develop and design equipment to support assembly operations.
• Monitor and improve current processes and equipment.
• Identify and troubleshoot process, electrical, and mechanical issues for production departments.
• Create, update, and integrate mechanical drawings in AutoCAD.
• Manage projects including preparing technical requirements and documents for capital justification.
• Schedule and conduct technical project reviews with the management team.
• Create and manage schedules for capital and expense projects.
• Manage budgets for automation and equipment-related projects.
• Assist in defining company strategies for all automation and equipment-related projects.
• Manage various contractors during repairs and projects.
• Prepare procedures for contractor requirements.
• Create process flows and corporate communications for preparedness and response to customer and company changes.
• Document requirements and scopes of work for capital projects and strategies.

Essential Skills

• PLC troubleshooting experience.
• Electrical automation experience.
• Robotics exposure.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and electrical design.
• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Strong knowledge of equipment design and installation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Basic understanding of PLC systems and system controls.
• Understanding of vision systems (training provided) and DC torque equipment management.
• Strong PC skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
• Excellent communication skills.

Work Environment

The work environment includes manufacturing and distribution facilities. The position requires working in shifts from 7 AM to 3 PM or 4 PM to 12:30 AM. Overtime is available for associates. Dress code and further details about the work environment will be provided upon hiring.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
