Job Title: Commercial Estimator

Job Description

We are seeking a Commercial Estimator to prepare accurate estimates for diverse commercial projects, including multi-family housing, office buildings, manufacturing, and medical/dental facilities. This role involves building strong relationships with General Contractors (GCs) throughout Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas, reviewing plans, conducting site visits, and developing competitive bids across multiple sectors. You will also help select and implement estimating software to modernize our processes, work with our skilled electrical team for seamless estimate-to-execution handoffs, and track and analyze results to continuously improve win rates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates for diverse commercial projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with General Contractors in Cedar Rapids and surrounding areas.
• Review project plans and conduct site visits to gather necessary information for bids.
• Develop competitive bids across multiple sectors including multi-family housing, office buildings, manufacturing, and medical/dental facilities.
• Select and implement estimating software to modernize processes.
• Collaborate with the electrical team to ensure seamless estimate-to-execution handoffs.
• Track and analyze bidding results to continuously improve win rates.

Essential Skills

• Experience in construction estimation, particularly in commercial projects.
• Proficiency in project management and construction estimating.
• Familiarity with electrical systems and related estimating processes.
• 1-2 years of electrical estimating experience or 1-2 years of estimation experience in a construction-related field.
• Tech-savvy with the ability to adapt to new technologies and software.

• Experience with implementing and using estimating software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Work Environment

The role is office-based, working alongside the current commercial estimator until their departure in November. You will also have the support of the residential estimator if needed. Job Location

This position is based out of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $46.00/hr.
