Actalent Engineering is seeking qualified candidates for a CMM Technician opening with a medical device manufacturer that is located in Wyomissing, PA. This person will be responsible for responsible for performing final, in-process and first article inspections of tools, gages, equipment and machined components manufactured internally or by outside vendors using a CMM, SmartScope optical gage, surface test device (profilometer), and manual metrology devices.
Below is a summary of responsibilities for this position:
- Perform dimensional and geometric inspections using CMM, SmartScope, and manual metrology tools.
- Create inspection reports and issue inspection certifications.
- Write and digitize CMM and SmartScope programs for reverse engineering.
- Interpret 2D and 3D CAD data for inspection processes.
- Schedule inspection work and manage timelines.
- Communicate with requesters, supervisors, toolmakers, and technicians regarding quoting, quality, and inspection issues.
- Interface with CAE personnel concerning 3D models and 2D drawings.
- Provide progress and personal time reports.
- Train CMM and SmartScope users in the tool room or other departments.
- Schedule or perform maintenance and calibration of inspection equipment.
- Order parts and supplies for metrology equipment.
- Attend seminars, trade shows, and vendor visits to expand knowledge of quality and metrology.

- Openness to being trained on how to program a CMM
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wyomissing, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
