We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our dynamic team in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality control and assurance, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for maintaining high standards.
Responsibilities- Dimensionally inspect manufactured components using manual inspection, CMM, and assembly methods.
- Physically assemble components as per engineering drawings.
- Wrap manufactured components, tag, and gather all items for final verification.
- Document all manufactured parts that fail inspection and coordinate disposition with engineering and project management.
- Assist the Project Management department with specialty applications.
- Support internal and external vendors by conducting in-process inspections as needed.
- Utilize ERP software to receive manufactured parts into stock through work orders, record time, and review work orders.
- Assist project management with verifying all physical components are allocated on the picklist.
- Contribute to training new employees.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Associates or Bachelors Degree, Technical Schooling, trade school, or Apprenticeship.
- 2-3 years of experience within the Quality Technician Industry.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in running/programming a CMM, specifically using Calypso.
- Ability to use calipers, tape measurers, micrometers, volt meters, and oscilloscopes.
- Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of how things work, including QC processes and lean principles.
- Experience documenting Non-conforming reports into Excel (NCRs).
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, or schematics.
- Experience with continuous improvement initiatives for inventory management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with ERP systems, specifically in placing items into inventory through work orders.
- Extensive knowledge of metrology methods and equipment.
The work environment is a machine shop setting that emphasizes precision and accuracy. You will be working with advanced technologies and equipment, including CNC programming, lathe, and mill operations. The environment is fast-paced and requires adherence to safety standards while fostering continuous improvement.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Arlington Heights, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr.
