Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Pharmacist to join our Utilization Management (UM) team. This position involves reviewing client-specific UM requests and conducting clinical evaluations while ensuring alignment with clinical intent. This remote role offers an excellent opportunity for those looking to transition from retail pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess client-specific UM requests such as formulary exceptions, prior authorizations, step therapy, and quantity limit exceptions.
• Conduct clinical evaluations using client-specific criteria and ensure decisions align with clinical intent.
• Provide consultation to healthcare providers or members regarding non-formulary and clinical product coverage issues.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure consistency in decision-making across the pharmacist team.
• Engage in regular communication with team members and supervisors through Teams messaging, phone, and video calls.
• Participate in structured touchpoints and training sessions.

Essential Skills

• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree.
• Two years of work experience in retail, managed care, or clinical pharmacy.
• Current pharmacist license in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects.
• Motivated self-starter with strong results orientation.
• Proficient in making independent clinical decisions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) or Case/Care Management.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and learning new computer systems.
• Ability to type 35 words per minute.
• Experience in retail pharmacy (e.g., CVS, Walgreens) preferred over hospital experience.

Work Environment

This is a 100% remote role, available to candidates residing in the U.S., excluding California, Hawaii, or Virginia. The position involves an 8-hour shift starting between 9-9:30 AM CST, with flexibility for overtime during peak seasons (November through May). Training lasts 11 weeks, with no time off allowed during this period. The team rotates weekend shifts and holidays, with schedules subject to business needs.

This is a Contract position based out of Eagan, MN.

The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $55.00/hr.
