The Clinical Research Coordinator will play a key role in the successful execution of clinical trials by screening, enrolling, and following study participants, maintaining accurate study documentation, and supporting protocol implementation. This role requires close collaboration with the recruitment team and study monitors, as well as hands-on involvement in study procedures and regulatory processes.
Responsibilities- Screen potential study subjects to determine eligibility based on protocol criteria.
- Enroll qualified participants into clinical studies and guide them through the consent process.
- Follow study subjects throughout the trial, ensuring adherence to visit schedules and protocol requirements.
- Review and assess study protocols to understand visit schedules, procedures, and documentation needs.
- Actively collaborate with the recruitment team by calling and engaging potential participants to support enrollment goals.
- Integrate new trial assignments with existing study workload to maintain balanced and efficient operations.
- Coordinate and integrate monitoring visits into the ongoing trial schedule, ensuring all required documents and data are ready for review.
- Accurately maintain source documents and all study-related records, ensuring completeness, clarity, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, ECG, and other protocol-specific procedures; training is available for procedures as needed.
- Apply working knowledge of regulatory requirements and electronic data capture (EDC) systems to support study conduct and documentation.
- Support data management activities by ensuring timely, accurate entry and verification of clinical trial data.
- Conduct chart reviews and pre-screening of patients to identify suitable candidates for clinical studies.
- Assist in the day-to-day running of clinical trials, ensuring Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Institutional Review Board (IRB) compliance.
- At least 2 years of solid experience as a Clinical Research Coordinator, with responsibility for screening, enrolling, and managing trial participants.
- Hands-on experience in clinical research and clinical trials, including direct interaction with study subjects.
- Ability to perform or learn vital signs, phlebotomy, ECG, and other protocol-required clinical procedures.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements related to clinical research and familiarity with IRB processes.
- Experience with electronic data capture (EDC) systems and data management in a clinical research setting.
- Proficiency in research analysis, chart review, and pre-screening patients for clinical study eligibility.
- Strong understanding of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines and their application in day-to-day trial conduct.
- Ability to accurately maintain source documents and study records with high attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for coordinating with recruitment teams, study monitors, and participants.
- Strong organizational skills to integrate multiple trials and monitoring visits within an active workload.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
- Bilingual language skills are preferred and may enhance participant communication.
- Prior phlebotomy experience is preferred; training can be provided if needed.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a research team.
- Comfort working with clinical data, electronic systems, and standard office technology.
This role is primarily based in an office environment that supports clinical research activities. The coordinator will work with electronic data capture systems, office-based communication tools, and standard computing equipment to manage documentation and data. While the setting is office-based, the role involves regular interaction with study participants and clinical staff, including performing clinical procedures such as vital signs, phlebotomy, and ECGs in appropriate clinical spaces. Work hours typically follow standard business schedules, with workload influenced by trial timelines, participant visits, and monitoring activities. Professional attire suitable for an office and clinical research setting is expected.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Myers, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $32.00 - $43.00/hr.
