Water/Wastewater Professional Engineer (PE) — Treatment Hydraulics
Location: Fort Wayne, IN
License: Indiana Professional Engineer (PE) or ability to obtain Indiana reciprocity
We are partnered with a well‑established, highly specialized water and wastewater engineering consulting firm serving municipalities across Indiana. They are seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Professional Engineer (PE) for their Fort Wayne office to support continued growth and a strong backlog of municipal infrastructure work.
This opportunity is well‑suited for a PE who wants to focus on treatment process design and hydraulic infrastructure within a firm where water and wastewater engineering is the core business, not just a secondary department.
What You’ll Be Doing
You will work across the full lifecycle of municipal water and wastewater projects, including:
- Water and wastewater treatment process / plant design (potable water and/or wastewater)
- Conceptual planning and feasibility studies
- Preparation of design reports and technical documentation
- Development of plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Bidding assistance and construction phase engineering support
- Hydraulic engineering for:
- Pump stations
- Water distribution systems
- Wastewater collection systems
- Supporting both rehabilitation and new construction projects for municipalities throughout Indiana
Required Qualifications (Must Have)
- B.S. in Civil Engineering (M.S. or Ph.D. a plus)
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in Indiana or ability to obtain reciprocity
- Proven experience in water/wastewater treatment process and plant design
- Strong hydraulic engineering experience with pump stations, collection systems, and distribution systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and within collaborative project teams
- Ability and willingness to mentor junior engineers
- Strong work ethic and organizational skills
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience with GPS‑X and/or Visual Hydraulics
- Civil 3D
- Prior experience with a civil engineering consulting firm
Compensation (Based on Years of PE Licensure)
- < 5 years: $90,000 – $110,000
- 5–10 years: $110,000 – $120,000
- 10–15 years: $120,000 – $130,000
- 15–20 years: $130,000 – $150,000
- 20 years: $150,000 – $180,000
Relocation
Relocation assistance is available and is typically provided as a sign‑on bonus.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $180000.00/yr.

Salary : $110,000 - $120,000
