Civil Engineer

Description

This scope of work is to provide civil sitework engineering design services that includes grading plan design, hydrology and stormwater management systems design, roadway design, and erosion control planning and design associated with preparing construction drawing packages, calculations, and sketches. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D for producing and preparing civil sitework designs and construction drawing packages utilizing internally provided CAD templates, go-bys, and drafting standards. Limited travel may be required. Expectation for travel is for site familiarity needed to support engineering designs and drawing packages. May be required to provide photo documentation during these visits. Provide construction support as needed with respect to provided designs and construction drawings REQUIRED SKILLS: Experience in site development design that includes grading plan design, hydrology andStormwater management systems design, roadway design, and erosion control planning and design associated with preparing construction drawing packages Limited site visits for site familiarity needed to support engineering designs and drawing packages may be required. Must have the ability to provide technical support and information to construction site teams as needed during construction. Proficient experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D for construction plan package development. Excellent people skills and ability to work effectively with a team or independently. Well-developed written and oral communication skills. Individual must be well organized. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is strongly preferred. Experience working in a fast-paced environment and a proven ability to successfully handle multiple tasks at the same time is strongly preferred. Driven, strong work ethic, and willing to learn. Self-starter, proactive. Ability to interface with contractors, department personnel, vendors and other project Stakeholders.

This is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL.

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $55.00/hr.
