Responsibilities- Collect and analyze project data.
- Lead or assist in the design and development of roadway plans, specifications, design calculations, and technical documents.
- Calculate quantities and develop cost estimates.
- Produce complete plan sets.
- Collaborate with other design disciplines.
- Utilize excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
- 0 - 2 years of experience in civil engineering.
- Familiarity with MicroStation, GEOPAK/Corridor Modeling, and OpenRoads Designer.
- Knowledge of NCDOT roadway design guidelines, standards, and specifications is a plus.
- Experience with NCDOT highway design is a plus.
- Previous internships with civil engineering firms are advantageous.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, AutoCAD Civil 3D, land development, site development, grading, drainage, stormwater, site design, and site planning.
- EIT certification and project management skills are beneficial.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr.
