Job Title: Medical Director / Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist

Job Description

The Medical Director/Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist will oversee clinical care at the Center for Healthy Families, ensuring the highest standards of psychiatric and behavioral health services for children, youth, and families. This part-time role combines direct patient care, clinical supervision, and program oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct psychiatric care and evaluation for children, youth, and families in an outpatient setting.
  • Supervise and support clinical team members in assessment and treatment planning.
  • Review and sign off on treatment plans, intakes, and clinical documentation.
  • Lead and participate in monthly staff meetings, serving as Medical Director for regulatory and accreditation purposes.
  • Collaborate with medical and clinical staff to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Guide and mentor clinical staff in best practices for psychiatric care.
  • Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and peer review activities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current trends in child and adolescent psychiatry.
  • Other duties as assigned to support program quality and patient care.

Essential Skills

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an approved residency in psychiatry.
  • Board certification in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • Active and unrestricted Connecticut medical license.
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in clinical settings.
  • Ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate with diverse populations.

  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
  • Commitment to compassionate, high-quality care and continuous improvement.
  • Flexible schedule with potential for growth in hours and responsibilities.
  • Clinical supervision and teaching experience.
  • Familiarity with outpatient behavioral health settings.
  • Ability to sign off on treatment plans and intakes.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience in trauma-informed care or family systems preferred.
  • Comfort with virtual platforms and remote collaboration.
  • Double board certification (Child & Adult Psychiatry) is a plus.
  • Experience with virtual care delivery is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission standards.
  • Prior leadership or director-level experience in behavioral health.

Work Environment

Most work can be done virtually, except for direct patient care. The clinic operates from 8 AM to 8 PM, and a monthly in-person staff meeting is required. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $104000.00 - $208000.00/yr.
