What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chemical Engineer position at Actalent?
Actalent Engineering is recruiting for a Chemical Engineer with a client in the West Memphis area. This engineer will provide expertise in developing existing and new processes / projects for the operation.
Description
- Must have experience in a chemical industry running processes
- Develops new and existing processes from concept to the finished operating process within the facility
- Able to read pfd drawings and producing material and energy balances for all new or existing Operations
- Works with R&D, Operations, Sales and all related teams to fully understand scope and to provide both guidance and expertise as needed for new and existing products
- Will lead projects by building small teams and an executable scope of works, building a solid cost model (OPEX and CAPEX), acquire equipment, write procedures and test plans, conduct start up and turn over the finished new or modified process to Operation’s management team
- Good communication skills are a must including capability of writing EOD and solid presentation skills
- Provide training that will aid in developing others on process improvements
- Ability to read/understand drawings (ex. identify components such as a pump or valve or reactor, familiar with the standard symbols used.)
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred), chemical Industry background
- Experience with process/projects in a Chemical Manufacturing Environment
- Ability to develop new processes and update existing processes
- Develops new and existing processes - from concept to the finished operating process
- Experience with running projects, ability to talk to vendors
- Hands on and experience with gathering data and interpreting that data to bettering the processes
- Lean experience - Six Sigma, Yellow, Green, Black Belt
