We are seeking a dedicated Care Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for patient intake, checking in patients, performing insurance verifications, scheduling appointments, and responding to patient portal messages. You will work within a high-volume medical clinic setting, managing a large number of incoming patient calls and ensuring efficient and accurate scheduling. Your role will also involve working with patients, providers, pharmacies, and laboratories to facilitate patient orders while maintaining professionalism and strong customer service.
Responsibilities- Manage patient intake and check-in processes.
- Perform insurance verifications with accuracy.
- Schedule appointments efficiently, handling a high volume of incoming patient calls.
- Utilize Jelly Bean for processing electronic refill requests from outside pharmacies.
- Ensure correct scheduling of patients based on the type of visit requested and the appropriate doctor.
- Respond promptly to patient portal messages.
- Enter patient information accurately and efficiently.
- Make adjustments to physician schedules and generate monthly appointment schedules.
- Coordinate with patients, providers, pharmacies, and laboratories for patient orders.
- Facilitate telehealth appointments and guide patients through the process.
- Work with the EMR System E Clinical Works.
- Maintain and display professionalism and strong customer service throughout the day.
- Demonstrate flexibility around job duties and functions.
- 1-2 years of recent medical office experience.
- BLS and/or CPR certification.
- Proficiency in medical terminology.
- Medication or pharmacy knowledge.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong computer skills.
- Strong phone etiquette.
- Strong communication skills with patients, providers, pharmacies, and labs.
- Detail-oriented.
- Ability to fill prescription requests.
- Medical assisting experience.
- Experience in urgent care and internal medicine.
- EKG knowledge.
- Customer service experience.
The position is based in a high-volume medical clinic that supports 17 doctors and sees over 250 patients per day. The clinic operates Monday through Friday, from 8:15 am to 5:15 pm. The clinic serves a diverse community, including pediatrics, urgent care, adult care, and radiology. The team enjoys a family-oriented culture, fostering a tight-knit and welcoming environment. The clinic is conveniently located near several excellent restaurants, providing easy access to dining options.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fountain Valley, CA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
