Job Description
The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for preparing patients and diagnostic equipment for imaging procedures, performing full transthoracic echocardiography procedures, and providing a comfortable setting for patients. The role includes accurate data entry, assisting physicians in interpreting data, and ensuring all medical records and clinical systems are up to date.
Responsibilities
- Obtain Echocardiographic data utilizing 2-D imaging, M-Mode, Continuous Wave, Pulsed Wave, and Color Flow Doppler.
- Prepare preliminary reports for physician interpretation.
- Utilize ultrasound Enhancing Agents according to ASE guidelines and perform saline contrast studies as needed.
- Explain procedures to patients and address any concerns they may have.
- Track and input test data and patient information into clinical systems and medical records.
- Maintain and calibrate equipment, monitor quality control to ensure accurate results.
- Utilize knowledge of each patient's age-specific needs in performing duties.
- Assist with transporting patients to and from exam rooms.
- Travel locally and regionally up to 50% of the time with a portable echo machine.
Essential Skills
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required within the first 90 days of employment.
- Experience with echocardiographic techniques such as 2-D imaging, M-Mode, Continuous Wave, Pulsed Wave, and Color Flow Doppler.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school in Ultrasound Technology required.
- Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months of related work experience post-internship/externship required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience post-internship/externship preferred.
- Customer-service focused attitude and care through interactions.
- Critical thinking skills and detail-oriented with data entry reporting.
Work Environment
The position offers a day shift from Monday to Friday, with flexible start times between 7:30 and 8:30 AM. There are no night, holiday, or weekend shifts. The position offers a steady schedule across three locations in St. Louis, MO. Employees benefit from a 7.5% annual bonus, independent work, and training in Miami for a week (all expenses paid). The role requires a professional setting, with no micromanagement

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $97760.00 - $135200.00/yr.
Off on national holidays, two floating holidays and 2 weeks of PTO You can choose between 4 different Medical coverage plan designs from Bronze, Bronze Plus, Silver, Gold and Platinum. They are offered through the Aetna, BlueCross Blue Shield, Cigna and United Healthcare
