Job Title: Calibration TechnicianJob Description

The Calibration Technician ensures the accuracy and reliability of inspection, measurement, and test equipment across multiple technical disciplines. This role focuses on performing precise calibrations, maintaining calibration standards, troubleshooting and repairing instruments, and documenting all work to meet strict specifications and quality requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment in disciplines such as acoustical, dimensional, RF/microwave, mechanical, optical, and related areas to ensure accuracy and compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain calibration standards and associated equipment to support consistent and reliable measurements.
  • Perform basic maintenance, troubleshooting, alignment, and repairs on precision instruments including micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators.
  • Collect, record, and organize data during calibration processes to support traceability and quality control.
  • Identify equipment that is out of tolerance and make necessary adjustments or repairs to restore proper performance.
  • Detect and correct measurement errors, ensuring instruments meet required performance and accuracy standards.
  • Prepare clear and accurate calibration reports and certificates in accordance with established procedures.
  • Use oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, and other test equipment to perform performance verification and calibration tasks.
  • Operate and test RF equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters, and frequency counters when required.
  • Apply general math and algebra functions to calculate, interpret, and verify measurement results.
  • Use MS Word and Excel to document calibration activities, maintain records, and generate reports.
  • Support battery testing activities as part of broader calibration and test responsibilities.
  • Interact with internal teams and customers in a collaborative manner to understand equipment requirements and provide calibration support.
  • Travel locally to customer sites as needed to perform on-site calibration and testing services.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Calibration Technician.
  • Strong proficiency in calibrating inspection, measurement, and test equipment across multiple disciplines, including acoustical, dimensional, RF/microwave, mechanical, and optical.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, align, and optimize precision equipment such as micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators.
  • Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, power supplies, and electronic loads for performance verification and testing.
  • Experience using and testing RF equipment including spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters, and frequency counters.
  • Ability to perform general math and algebra functions to support measurement and calibration calculations.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel for documentation, reporting, and data management.
  • Capability to conduct battery testing as part of calibration and verification processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when collecting data and preparing calibration reports and certificates.
  • Ability to identify out-of-tolerance conditions and take appropriate corrective actions.
  • Effective troubleshooting skills for instrumentation and precision measurement tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience calibrating RF (Radio Frequency) test equipment.
  • Additional experience using and testing RF equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters, and frequency counters.
  • Prior exposure to battery testing in a laboratory or industrial environment.
  • Interest in learning and working with a wide range of equipment and technologies.
  • Motivation to build and expand technical skills in calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Desire for career growth and advancement within a technical and quality-focused environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and communicate effectively with customers.
Work Environment

This position operates within laboratory/testing and industrial manufacturing environments, working directly with precision measurement instruments and advanced test equipment. The schedule is a first-shift, Monday through Friday role, providing regular daytime hours. Once converted to direct hire, the role includes approximately 20% local travel to customer sites for on-site calibration and testing services, offering variety in work locations and customer interaction. The work involves handling and positioning instruments and equipment, and the role requires the ability to lift up to 45 pounds without assistance. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Springboro, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.
