Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the drafting/design team.
- Establish and enforce CAD standards.
- Set measurable goals for the team.
- Conduct regular coaching and development sessions.
- Build clear career paths for team members.
- Collaborate with engineering managers and project leads to prioritize work and remove roadblocks.
- Contribute technically when necessary to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
- Proficiency in CAD management and CAD design.
- Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
- Supervision and coaching skills.
- Knowledge in GD&T, FEA, mechanical engineering, and mechanical design.
- Understanding of sheet metal and machine design.
- Project management capabilities.
- AA/AAS degree in Drafting, CAD, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience directly managing drafting/CAD staff.
- 5 years of hands-on drafter/designer experience.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching, running performance programs, and building development plans.
- Solid understanding of fabrication, shop practices, and constructability considerations.
