Job Title: Buyer Planner

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Buyer Planner to join our dynamic team in a growing industrial forging manufacturing environment. This role focuses on developing and maintaining the Master Production Schedule, managing procurement activities, and collaborating with various departments to align planning and purchasing with business goals.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule based on customer orders, forecasts, and production capacity.
• Create detailed production schedules to maximize efficient use of equipment, labor, and materials.
• Manage and report on procurement activities for raw materials, components, subcontracted services, and operational supplies.
• Evaluate supplier performance, negotiate terms, and maintain relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery requirements are met.
• Monitor inventory levels and proactively address material shortages or excesses.
• Analyze demand trends and adjust plans to meet changing customer requirements.
• Review and approve purchase orders, maintaining accurate records in the ERP system.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to align planning and purchasing with business goals.
• Resolve issues related to material availability, quality discrepancies, and delivery delays.
• Provide updates and reports on scheduling, procurement status, and supply chain risks.
• Support continuous improvement efforts focused on operational efficiency and cost reduction.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 4 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, and procurement in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of Master Production Scheduling (MPS), Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and purchasing processes.
• Proficiency in ERP systems for planning, scheduling, and purchasing activities.
• Experience working in fast-paced manufacturing environments with shifting priorities.
• Ability to review purchase contracts and terms and conditions for compliance and risk management.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills across departments and with external suppliers.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 4 years of experience buying/planning within a manufacturing facility.
• Hands-on, technical, proactive, and results-driven.
• Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
• Committed to continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Work Environment

The work environment is an industrial forging manufacturing setting, characterized by a hot and industrial atmosphere. Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Fontana, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
