Job Description

The BIM VDC Specialist is responsible for translating design intent contract documents or 3D design models of Plumbing, Mechanical, and HVAC systems into detailed Building Information Models (BIM) suitable for fabrication and installation. This role involves collaborating with engineers, managers, and contractors to produce LOD400 BIM for mechanical and plumbing systems, ensuring spatial coordination of all trades.

Responsibilities

• Translate design intent contract documents or 3D design models into BIM.
• Work with engineers and managers to produce LOD400 BIM for mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Collaborate with General Contractor and subcontractors to achieve spatial coordination.
• Attend weekly coordination meetings onsite or virtually.
• Generate and submit RFIs to the design team as required.
• Create detailed shop drawings for fabrication and installation.
• Create and annotate shop, hanger, and sleeve drawings.
• Export hanger and sleeve coordinates for field layout.
• Communicate with field personnel to ensure clear fabrication and installation intent.
• Mentor and train Junior VDC Specialists on modeling and collaboration software.
• Provide on-the-job training for fabrication and installation documentation.
• Collaborate with team members to meet project schedules.
• Maintain training and education to improve accuracy and productivity.
• Provide input on hardware and software requirements.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP, and Autodesk Navisworks.
• 2 or more years of experience with installation or 3D modeling of mechanical or plumbing systems.
• Knowledge of BIM-related software is a plus.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications.

Work Environment

This position requires the ability to efficiently and effectively work from home. The role involves collaboration with various team members and may include virtual meetings.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.

The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $70.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Atlanta,GA.
