Job Description
Responsible for complying with food safety, food security, quality standards, GMPs, HAACP, Allergen regulations, and other required regulations. The role involves certification in the operations of all blending equipment within the designated area of responsibility. The individual ensures the quality and integrity of the product run on the lines based on specifications and maintains customer satisfaction by producing and maintaining juice quality.
Responsibilities
- Transport required ingredients and pre-weighs from staging area to the blending area.
- Monitor and incorporate push outs and Dump to Bulk (DTB) back into the system.
- Hook up hoses, pumps, and lines for bulk concentrate or juice and transfer from the proper silo storage tank.
- Maintain, build, and start up filters and open drums. Inspect, monitor, and maintain filter blankets; inspect daily for holes or damage; wash new blankets as needed.
- Program touch screen for product delivery from silo room to blend tanks.
- Follow instructions on blending sheets, add the proper ingredients, and record amounts correctly.
- Obtain blend tank samples and take them to the quality laboratory for testing. Follow instructions from the quality department on any blending adjustments necessary to bring the product into specification.
- Complete blending sheets and ensure their accuracy.
- Complete all required documentation for blending operation and forward to QA/Blending department for review.
- Maintain sanitation and cleaning of the area throughout the shift.
- Responsible for CIP sanitation of all blending lines, tanks, and equipment.
- Remove empty barrels and bins from batching area to outside storage area and trailers.
- Receive and unload tankers of bulk concentrates as needed.
- Complete sanitation and line CIP as scheduled.
- Adhere to company policies and safety requirements as defined.
- Report all non-compliance, product protection, and food safety issues to management when encountered.
- Represent the company in a positive manner at all times.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Experience in manufacturing and production.
- Attention to detail.
- Mathematical skills, including measurements and formulas.
- Proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
- Solid comprehension of production schedules and laboratory testing.
- Ability to understand quality improvement, increase efficiencies, improve yields, and eliminate out-of-specification or damaged product.
- Capability to routinely lift 60 lbs and perform duties within a high stress/pressure environment.
- Experience in a fast-moving packaged goods environment, beverage production experience preferred.
- Formal training in areas such as WHIMIS, HACCP, Hygiene, etc., preferred.
- Certification may be required.
Work is performed in the Quality Department and Manufacturing area, involving the use of blending equipment and technology. Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tampa, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00/hr.
