Job Title: Assistant Project Manager
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Project Manager to support our project management team in delivering exceptional service in the construction industry. This role involves coordinating project activities, managing financial aspects, and ensuring successful project execution from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Work on order and WIP estimates upon request from Project Managers or customers.
  • Perform job walks and review drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Develop detailed estimates and proposals using company standards and estimating software.
  • Complete bid assessments and conduct estimate reviews with Project Managers and leadership.
  • Finalize and close estimates following internal approval processes.
  • Maintain accurate estimating records within tracking and reporting tools.
  • Establish project budgets, including phases, cost codes, and work order numbers.
  • Identify material needs and coordinate pricing through RFPs and bid leveling.
  • Support purchasing by providing approved quotes and material releases.
  • Manage subcontractor scopes, including solicitation, evaluation, and award of subcontract agreements.
  • Evaluate cost and schedule impacts related to design revisions, schedule changes, or coordination issues.
  • Prepare, document, and track change orders with appropriate backup and approvals.
  • Provide monthly cost forecasts and financial updates during WIP meetings.
  • Prepare monthly progress billings, including schedule of values and cost validation.
  • Coordinate and schedule project kick-off meetings in accordance with company procedures.
  • Participate in internal meetings related to prefab, QA/QC, safety, and department operations.
  • Attend project and stakeholder meetings as required to support execution and coordination.
  • Participate in contract reviews to confirm scope alignment and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with Contract Administration to ensure proper execution and filing.
  • Maintain project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and purchase order logs.
  • Support project closeout activities, including O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and punch list resolution.
  • Promote and enforce company safety standards in coordination with site and corporate safety leadership.
  • Identify and report safety concerns in a timely manner.
  • Participate in company HR processes including performance check-ins, reviews, and feedback discussions.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Project Engineer in electrical construction OR at least 2 years of field experience as an Electrical Foreman.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, materials, and construction methods.
  • Experience with estimating software, with Accubid strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Bluebeam preferred.
  • Commercial/industrial project experience.
  • Experience in project coordination, estimation, and scheduling.
  • Familiarity with Procore is a plus.
Work Environment

This position is primarily based in the office or on project sites within the Portland Metro area. You will be part of a large company with defined career advancement opportunities through the Project Management Program.

This is a Permanent position based out of PORTLAND, OR.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $95000.00/yr.
