Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Analog Hardware Design Engineer to join a small team focused on the design and development of spaceflight hardware for a satellite mission. The systems developed will be part of an upcoming US Government satellite program.

Responsibilities

• Design and simulate analog circuits and electronic systems for spaceflight hardware.
• Perform schematic entry and layout of boards, collaborating with a team of engineers through manufacturing and delivery.
• Design circuits to mitigate radiation effects in space environments.
• Create bills of materials (BOM) and write assembly procedures.
• Collaborate with test engineers to implement a comprehensive test cycle from prototype power-up to serial testing of flight hardware.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in designing analog electronic systems, particularly in power and signal conditioning.
• Experience in designing spaceflight boards with a focus on high reliability.
• Familiarity with schematic capture and board layout software tools.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with high reliability spacecraft, satellite, or spaceflight missions.
• Hands-on experience with schematic capture and board layout software.
• Experience leading design efforts is preferred.
• Familiarity with EGSE (Electrical Ground Support Equipment) design and development is a plus, but not required.

Work Environment

The role is based in an office environment. This is a new mission with the potential for follow-on work, and you will have the opportunity to lead the effort, following the board through to delivery. Collaboration with a junior hardware engineer is expected.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethesda, Maryland.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $80.00/hr.
