Responsibilities

  • Study the full handoff package from sales so you understand the scope and requirements. That includes drawings, specs, pricing, contract terms, and past correspondence.

  • Lead kickoff and planning meetings. Guide the team as it builds the work breakdown structure, schedule, scorecard, and risk and opportunity log.
  • Before the field crew goes onsite, make sure they have the tools, materials, and information they need to work safely, efficiently, and to spec.
  • Review and approve labor charges and vendor invoices so costs stay accurate and within budget.
  • Oversee requests for information so technical and contract questions get clear, accurate, and timely answers.
  • Check every change order before it goes to the customer, and send major changes up to leadership for review.
  • Review weekly schedule and scorecard updates, find variances and risks, and put corrective action plans in place.
  • Give accounting what it needs for billing, and sign off on customer invoices so they match the contract.
  • Serve as the customer's main point of contact for the life of the project.
  • Keep the internal team aligned and talking so decisions get made quickly.
  • Build project forecasts and walk leadership through profit, risk, and opportunity.
  • Use your knowledge of fabrication, machining, welding, and engineering drawings to guide decisions and keep the technical work sound.
