Field-Based | Utility Locating & Mapping

Looking for a hands-on role that gets you out of the office and into the field? Join our Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) team and play a key role in locating and documenting underground utilities that help keep engineering and construction projects safe, accurate, and on track.

What You’ll Be Doing

As a SUE Technician, you’ll support a SUE Analyst and field crew by collecting accurate underground utility data using advanced technology and proven field methods.

• Support a SUE Analyst and field crew on active job sites
• Locate underground utilities using GPR, electromagnetic (EM) locating, and vacuum excavation
• Operate survey equipment including GPS and total stations
• Work safely around live utilities, traffic, and construction environments
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, tools, and field equipment
• Travel to project sites as needed (occasional overnight travel)

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone who’s reliable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a field-based environment.

• Experience with utility locating and/or survey equipment
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate field tools
• Safety-minded, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

Bonus Points (Nice to Have)

• 2 years of SUE experience or relevant technical training
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Experience working on secure or regulated job sites

Work Environment

• 100% field-based position
• Projects throughout the Carolinas, Virginia, Georgia, and surrounding areas
• Longer hours may be required during busy project periods

This is a Contract position based out of Greenville, SC.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Greenville,SC.
