Job Title: Accessioner

Job Description

The accessioner is responsible for handling all specimens and lab samples in a safe and efficient manner, reviewing specimen packages for complete information, and routing or delivering specimens to the appropriate destination within the lab.

Responsibilities

• Handle all specimens and lab samples safely and efficiently, including blood, saliva, urine, stool, and more.
• Review specimen packages for complete information and route or deliver specimens to the correct destination within the lab.
• Scan or manually enter specimen and patient information into the internal system.
• Sort samples into specific bins based on category and lab code.
• Maintain an inclusive environment through persistent self-reflection.
• Build a culture of care, engagement, and recognition with clear outcomes.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large hospital lab, which serves as the central lab for all inpatient samples. The environment is fast-paced with high throughput. The contract duration is initially three months, with potential extensions based on business needs and performance. Onboarding includes drug, medical, and BG checks, and can start once cleared. The lab is located at Legacy Emanuel, and detailed information about shifts can be found in the tracker link provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.
