Job Title: Accessioner (Laboratory Specimen Processing)

What You’ll Do
- Receive & verify incoming specimens for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation
- Accession samples into the lab system using scanning and data entry with high precision
- Process and prepare specimens (blood, urine, saliva, tissue, etc.) for testing
- Aliquot samples into secondary containers following established procedures
- Match and verify patient information and resolve discrepancies
- Label, sort, and organize specimens to ensure seamless tracking
- Route and ship samples to appropriate testing areas or facilities
- Audit and troubleshoot missing or problem specimens
- Maintain strict safety standards when handling biological and chemical materials
- Collaborate with team members while managing independent responsibilities
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience in specimen processing, accessioning, or data entry-heavy roles
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle high-volume workloads in a fast-paced setting
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Reliability and a track record of consistent attendance
- Ability to lift 30–40 lbs and remain on your feet or seated for extended periods
Bonus Points If You Have
- Previous experience as an Accessioner or Specimen Processor
- Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)
- Experience working in a high-throughput diagnostic lab
- Interest in growing into roles like lab operations, client services, or leadership

Schedule & Environment
- 3rd shift options:
- Mon–Fri, 8:00 PM – 4:30 AM
- Mon–Fri, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
- Fast-paced, high-volume lab (most activity occurs overnight)
- Initial 3-month contract, with frequent extensions (6–9 months typical)
- Requires use of PPE and adherence to lab safety protocols

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.20 - $20.20/hr.
