What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accessioner position at Actalent?
A Lab Assistant will be working in a high volume, production-based environment performing a vital component of clinical lab science.
The schedule for this position is:
Tuesday - Saturday; 3rd shift @10pm - 6:30AM; 3rd shift
Essential Job Duties:
• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Sort specimens into their appropriate department or hamilton pipetting.
• Assists with loading and unloading of specimens on the Hamilton pipetting platform including capping and uncapping samples, labeling aliquot tubes, pulling errors, and sorting aliquots.
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Returns specimens to appropriate locations.
• Performs discard and relocation of specimen racks.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Adhere to the standard operating procedures and safety requirements of CLIA, CAP and other regulatory bodies.
• Documents all quality assurance activities as necessary including preventative maintenance logs, instrument function checks, troubleshooting, and quality control to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Follows any other job-related instructions and performs any other job-related duties requested by department management.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift up to 15lbs. Flexibility to work overtime as needed. Strong communication skills; both written and verbal. Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time. Must pass a standardized color blindness test.
Required Work Experience: Previous medical/lab or production experience is preferred. Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills preferred.
Working Conditions: This is a fast-paced production environment that has established turn-around times. Employee will be handling biological specimens with a potential of being exposed to blood borne pathogens.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.85 - $21.85/hr.
