Electro-Mechanical Technician
Job Summary
The Electro-Mechanical Technician is a hands-on role responsible for qualifying, validating, documenting, and supporting electro-mechanical tools and equipment. This position works closely with engineering, safety, and manufacturing teams to ensure tools are built correctly, perform as intended, and meet all electrical, mechanical, and safety requirements. The role supports a high-volume tool qualification environment and requires a proactive, safety-minded individual comfortable working directly with equipment and engaging with tool designers.
Key ResponsibilitiesTool Qualification & Validation
· Verify tool construction versus engineering prints and specifications
· Measure and validate tool geometry
· Confirm wiring accuracy and validate components and part numbers against BOMs
· Verify electrical characteristics including voltages, currents, and outputs
· Use voltage and current meters, bench-top power supplies, and power meters
· Verify overall tool performance and functionality
· Document qualification and validation results
Safety Sign-Offs
· Execute safety sign-off processes for tools and equipment
· Complete safety and compliance checklists
· Review documentation and obtain required approvals and signatures
Validation Results Review
· Interpret and understand validation and test results
· Review outcomes with internal reviewers and obtain approvals
· Identify and resolve discrepancies between expected and observed results
Tool Documentation & Release
· Update schematics, manuals, and maintenance documentation
· Prepare documentation for tool release including yellow tag, blue tag, and safety sign-off
· Perform minor drawing updates
· Release documentation in Agile and support Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
Project Support
· Plan and manage work completion timelines
· Schedule meetings related to qualification activities
· Identify and request parts required for qualification
· Coordinate completion timing to support crating and shipping
· Document work and communicate status with internal teams
Qualifications & Skills
· 2–8 years of experience in an electro-mechanical or technician role
· Strong electrical and mechanical fundamentals
· Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings
· Proficiency with measurement and test equipment (multimeters, calipers, oscilloscopes)
· Hands-on troubleshooting of electrical current, voltage, and outputs
· Proactive, safety-minded, and comfortable working independently while escalating when needed
Nice to Have
· Experience with pneumatics, PLCs, or vision systems
· Experience with Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs)
· 3D modeling or advanced CAD experience
· Understanding of manufacturing equipment safety requirements
· Previous experience with tooling or high-volume tool qualification
Pay: $28.00 - $30.00 per hour
