Responsibilities

  • Prepare and execute high-quality dishes aligned with menu standards.
  • Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to food safety regulations
  • Manage inventory control, including ordering, stock rotation, and minimizing waste
  • Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure team productivity and morale
  • Plan menus that meet dietary requirements and customer preferences while maintaining cost-effectiveness
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with health standards
  • Lead shift management activities, ensuring timely service and quality control during all operational hours
  • Collaborate with Lodge management to optimize service delivery and guest satisfaction

Skills

  • Extensive culinary experience with a focus on fine dining, catering, or restaurant management
  • Proven supervising or team management experience within a food service environment
  • Strong background in food safety protocols, inventory management, and kitchen operations
  • Excellent menu planning abilities with knowledge of dietary accommodations
  • Skilled in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling procedures
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse culinary team
  • Experience in banquet service, event catering, or hospitality settings is highly desirable
  • Effective communication skills to coordinate with staff and ensure smooth kitchen workflow
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality

This position offers an engaging opportunity for a seasoned culinary professional to lead our kitchen team during the summer seasonal period in Kaktovik. We value dedication, creativity, and leadership in delivering exceptional culinary experiences.

Pay: From $37.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 56.0 per week
