About ACT Advisors
ACT Advisors is a fee-only fiduciary wealth management firm with offices in Asheville, NC and Charleston, SC, serving clients nationwide. We deliver comprehensive financial planning and investment management to senior executives, high-net-worth families, and retirees, integrating investments, tax strategy, and long-term decision-making through close collaboration among advisors, planning professionals, and client service professionals.
Our core values are Trust, Fiduciary Duty, Authentic Compassion, and Discretionary Effort. We are a process-driven firm that uses technology, including AI, to make our work more consistent and efficient. People still make the judgments and build the relationships.
The Opportunity
You will have real client responsibility, experienced mentors, and a defined path toward becoming a lead advisor.
You will begin serving an established group of ACT Advisors clients, taking on more responsibility as you learn our approach and demonstrate readiness. Alongside senior advisors, you will build your ability to deliver advice, lead client meetings, and serve increasingly complex households. ACT Advisors also generates a steady flow of prospective clients, and you will learn to lead discovery conversations and earn their confidence.
You do not need to bring clients or build your own pipeline. You will serve clients as part of a team with dedicated planning, client service, and operational support. Advancement to lead advisor depends on demonstrated readiness.
This role fits an early-career professional with planning and client-meeting experience who wants more responsibility. We will also consider prepared career changers with relevant professional experience and demonstrated preparation for an advisory career.
This is an office-based position in Asheville, with occasional work-from-home flexibility.
What You’ll Do
- Lead review meetings for your assigned households and communicate investment and planning recommendations in collaboration with our planning professionals.
- Participate in senior-advisor meetings and progressively take on more responsibility for advice delivery and relationship management.
- Work with planning and client service professionals to make sure recommendations and client commitments are carried through.
- Keep thorough client documentation and follow ACT Advisors’ advisory and operational processes.
- Learn to lead discovery conversations and convert firm-generated prospects.
- Take part in advisor training, independent learning, and professional development.
What We’re Looking For
We value advisors who combine strong interpersonal skills with sound professional judgment. The successful candidate will be an attentive listener who builds trust, communicates clearly, and follows through consistently. You should bring initiative, a collaborative approach, and a commitment to developing your expertise within an established advisory team.
Qualifications
- Approximately one to three years of client-facing experience in financial planning or advice at an RIA, bank, credit union, or similar firm (preferred).
- A working foundation in financial planning and investment concepts.

- Sound judgment, attention to detail, and dependable follow-through.
- Comfort with financial technology, CRM systems, and evolving workflows.

Career Development
- Structured onboarding, advisor mentorship, and professional development.
- CFP support: ACT Advisors covers exam costs (excluding cram courses). Our preferred timeline is certification within 12 months, with a goal of no later than 24 months, subject to qualifying experience and other certification requirements.
- Responsibility that expands as your capabilities develop, including more complex households and greater involvement with new client relationships.
- Bonus opportunities and compensation growth as your advisory responsibilities expand.
