Medical billing company in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking a certified medical coder to play a vital role in ensuring accurate coding for reimbursement and compliance. As a Medical Billing Coder, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals and contribute to financial success.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately assign ICD and CPT codes following coding guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and precise documentation.
- Work closely with billing and finance teams for timely claims submission.
- Resolve coding-related denials and discrepancies with insurance providers.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other coding regulations through regular audits.
- Stay updated on medical billing coding regulations and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Active CPC/CPC-A certification
- One (1) year experience as a Certified Medical Coder is required.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA requirements regarding privacy, security and confidentiality.
- Experience reviewing patient accounts including in-depth understanding of medical billing procedures, including but not limited to accurate assessment of denials.
- Proficiency in coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
