After the 1st week of training, the employee can participate in a remote/hybrid work schedule unless management requests in office meetings. Underwriting Technician – The Auto Club Group/Fremont Insurance What you will do: Performs various risk analysis and support activities relating to either life or property/casualty or commercial insurance underwriting functions based on area of assignment. Reviews insurance policies to ensure rating accuracy and completion and corrects policies within established limits. Prepares correspondence and reports. Maintains records and files. Reviews life/property/casualty/commercial insurance applications for rating accuracy and completeness. Verifies selected criteria for property/casualty or commercial insurance cancellation status or reviews conditionally issued life policies for accurate and complete input before files are released into master record. Verifies that any missing requirements have been waived and that all life insurance policies being mailed have underwriting approval on file. Completes policy endorsement forms for additions or changes to property/casualty/commercial insurance policies or verifies that life insurance underwriter's instructions regarding premium class (standard, substandard) and exclusion of benefits applied for have been properly input into computer system. Maintains a variety of charts, letters and forms according to established procedures. May be required to review reports for discrepancies and correct errors. Types and develops graphs, reports, correspondence and form letters for additional information, records in diary and follows up according to established procedures. Maintains computer and manual diaries for underwriting action according to established procedures and assists in developing monthly reports. Benefits include: 401k Match Medical Dental Vision PTO Paid Holidays Tuition Reimbursement We’re looking for candidates who: Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify) Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications): High School diploma or equivalent 35 wpm accurate typing Experience: PC software applications preparing business documents analyzing written directions and determining appropriate action problem solving Knowledge and Skills: underwriting policies, practices and procedures property/casualty/commercial insurance terminology communicate effectively with others perform basic math calculations review policies to ensure rating accuracy/completion and corrects policies within established limits organize, file and assemble documents work within a team environment present information in a clear concise manner track and log daily activities For Life Insurance Postings also include: Experience: CRT experience with life insurance transactions direct mail marketing processing Knowledge and Skills: life insurance documents (policy print forms, schedule of benefits) life insurance terminology and products life policy delivery requirement forms direct mail product entering and balancing journal entries organizing and maintaining records Preferred Qualifications College level coursework in Business Administration or a related field. Experience in the application of underwriting policies, practices and procedures. IMS/POS experience with insurance transactions. CPCU, IIA, LOMA or other insurance-related coursework. Knowledge of company property/casualty/commercial insurance products and processing procedures. Work Environment This position is currently able to work remotely from a home office location for day-to-day operations unless occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team building activities is specified by leadership.
