Location: Parsippany, NJ 

Senior Project Manager, Shoring   

Provide oversight and approval of drawings for the field assembly of prefabricated modular shoring systems. Prepare customer approved engineering calculations, technical drawings, field erection drawings, and bills of material using computer-aided-drafting (CAD) equipment and related design software. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain and update standardized drawing packages, templates and related technical documentation to support engineering and project requirements.
  • Prepare, review and finalize engineering calculations in accordance with applicable codes, standards and project specifications.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to develop engineered solutions for shoring and related structural applications.
  • Review and approve technical drawings used for the fabrication and field assembly of prefabricated modular systems, ensuring alignment with customer specifications, engineering requirements, drafting standards and applicable regulations.
  • Apply principles of engineering, construction methods, mathematics, materials and physical sciences to produce accurate technical drawings using U.S. Customary and/or Metric units.
  • Prepare and review bills of material associated with drawings, designs and project deliverables.
  • Revise drawings, calculations and documentation to address design updates, project changes, regulatory requirements, or client feedback.
  • Develop installation and removal procedures, including supporting drawings and written instructions for field implementation.
  • Review completed work for technical accuracy, completeness and compliance with company policies, engineering standards and quality requirements.
  • Prepare technical documentation and materials to support project execution, sales activities and customer communication.
  • Coordinate project requirements and technical support needs with Field Service Technicians, Project Managers and other internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in site visits or inspections of installed systems, as needed, to support project completion and documentation such as Certificates of Compliance.
  • Understand and adhere to all Acrow’s policies and applicable laws
  • Travel to other Acrow Locations or Customer Sites as necessary
  • Perform other duties as required 

Skills and Knowledge:  

  • Knowledge of structural and temporary works design related to steel and concrete framing, including modifications, rehabilitation and erection activities.
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD LT or AutoCAD Mechanical (2018 or later) to produce and modify engineering and construction drawings.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and prepare structural and civil drawings, calculations, specifications and technical documentation.
  • Working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards, such as AASHTO, AISC, OSHA, and SSFI and the ability to apply them to project work.
  • Understanding of construction methods, materials, drafting standards, symbols and dimensioning practices commonly used in engineering and construction environments.
  • Familiarity with pre-engineered and modular shoring systems utilized in heavy civil or infrastructure construction projects.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including consulting engineers, transportation agencies, sales teams, and customers, to ensure drawings and technical deliverables meet project requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Demonstrated communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative team setting.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Windows based systems and Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. 

Minimum Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural or Construction Engineering and 8 to 10 years’ industry experience in design-related discipline or a combination of education, skills, and experience 

Preferred Skills and Knowledge: 

  • Professional Licensure in one or more States 

Working Conditions: 

  • Work is typically performed in an office environment which requires proper safety precautions. Work requires occasional physical effort in the handling of materials, boxes, or equipment.
