What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping and Receiving Clerk position at Acro Service Corporation?
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload incoming shipments from trucks and carriers.
- Verify received materials against purchase orders, packing slips, and shipping documents.
- Inspect incoming goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies and report issues.
- Sort, label, and store materials in designated warehouse locations.
- Update material order sheets with receipt status, pricing, supplier information, and inventory records.
- Prepare outgoing shipments by packaging, weighing, and measuring items.
- Generate shipping labels and complete required shipping documentation.
- Load packages and materials onto delivery vehicles for shipment.
- Track shipment status and resolve shipping-related issues.
- Maintain accurate inventory and material records.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation.
- Manage and maintain supplier files and procurement records.
- Maintain accurate government property records and documentation.
- Perform monthly government property audits/walk-throughs to verify equipment locations and asset accuracy.
- Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Handle and store HAZMAT materials in compliance with safety regulations.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.
- Follow OSHA safety procedures and company policies.
- Collaborate with internal departments and vendors to ensure timely material flow.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications for tracking, reporting, and recordkeeping.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with cycle counting and inventory control.
- HAZMAT handling experience and certification preferred.
- Forklift Certification.
- OSHA Safety Certification.
