Time Type: Full time Department: CC033020 Clinical Research Operations Summary: Additional Information: The Manager Clinical Research Programs is responsible for managing day-to-day operations of a functional team accountable for supporting clinical research programs and/or studies conducted by Principal Investigators (PIs) at Arkansas Children’s Research Institute. Achieves functional objectives while developing individuals and teams and ensuring team effectiveness, including but not limited to, with process maintenance and definition of team norms. Required Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; Or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Recommended Education: Required Work Experience: Related Field - 5 years with 1 year of leadership experience Recommended Work Experience: Required Certifications: 1 of the following certifications is required - Recommended Certifications: ACRP Certified Professional - Association of Clinical Research Professionals, Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) - Society of Clinical Research Associates Description 1. Develops annual work plans used to achieve goals and performance metrics. Evaluates team performance and defines and maintains internal processes. Evaluates performance of team members, providing continuous feedback. Accountable for managing entire employee lifecycle of team, including hiring, development, performance management, discipline and termination. Accountable for the development, implementation, maintenance and adherence of departmental strategies, policies, procedures and best practices. Monitors overall compliance with all applicable regulatory bodies. 2. Works on projects and system wide research initiatives. Serves as a subject matter expert to internal and external stakeholders regarding protocol requirements and problem-solving related to clinical, logistical, financial and/or regulatory issues, as well as with programs, processes and best practices. Establishes customer service standards and addresses operational and customer service escalations. Serves as a champion of system-wide culture, influencing culture change to support institutional objectives 3. Manages resource allocation, budgets and financial performance of assigned team. Collaborates with stakeholders and decision makers to foster collaboration in research operations, planning, budgeting, strategy, and communications across the system. Accountable for business development and growth involving research activities. Complies with AC policies and procedures for maintaining payroll documentation 4. Is a role model and champion for the research mission of the institute. Seeks new challenges and is self-directed in identifying resources/learning activities to enhance competence. Participates in leadership activities for the institution. Completes appropriate continuing education related to role responsibilities. 5. Consistently demonstrates that new knowledge and skills gained from education are incorporated into actual practice. Shares knowledge and expertise with research personnel Utilizes available communication tools (e-mail, staff meeting) to remain informed. 6. Performs other duties as assigned.
