What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Sales Specialist position at ACR HVAC Air Conditioning and Heating?
HVAC Commercial Sales Specialist — ACR HVAC | Bradenton, FL
Pay: $2,400 – $4,000 per week (1099 Commission) Job Type: Full-Time | Field-Based | Bradenton, FL (50-mile radius)
About ACR HVAC
ACR is the only dual-licensed HVAC and certified mold remediation company in the Sarasota/Bradenton area — and that distinction matters more than you might think.
Most HVAC companies are legally prohibited from touching mold. Most mold remediation companies don't understand the mechanical complexities of an HVAC system. We do both. When a property has a mold issue caused by a failing coil or humidity imbalance, we don't just treat the symptom — we fix the source and perform a certified remediation in a single project. For a commercial client, that means one vendor, one invoice, and one team that actually solves the problem.
Our three service pillars:
- HVAC — Emergency repairs, routine maintenance, and full system replacements, with a focus on energy efficiency and long-term reliability
- Mold Remediation — Certified identification, containment, and removal, restoring air quality and addressing the mechanical failure that caused it
- Water Damage Restoration — Emergency water extraction, drying, and structural restoration
We primarily serve small businesses, HOAs, senior living facilities, and commercial property managers across the Sarasota/Bradenton Suncoast market.
About This Role
This is a full-cycle commercial sales role — you own the process from first contact to closed contract. You'll be hunting your own leads, canvassing commercial properties, building relationships with property managers and facilities directors, and presenting ACR's dual-service value proposition to decision-makers who can actually sign off.
The bulk of your business will be preventative maintenance contracts ($235/unit for small commercial, $1,000 for larger systems) along with HVAC replacements and mold/water remediation projects. Commercial deals have longer cycles, but the contracts are substantial — and at 40% commission, your earnings reflect that.
New reps average $2,400/week. Top performers hit $4,000 /week.
There's no cap, no territory hand-holding, and no one closing deals for you. If that sounds like your environment, keep reading.
What a High-Performance Day Looks Like
- Morning: Map your targets using property data — aging commercial systems, HOA complexes, senior facilities. Plan your route to front-load stops before Florida's afternoon heat and storms hit.
- Midday: B2B pop-ins at property management offices, follow-up calls on pipeline leads, CRM logging. Every touch gets documented — commercial cycles run 3–6 months and nothing falls through the cracks.
- Afternoon/Evening: Prime time for commercial decision-makers. You're not pitching a price — you're leading with a diagnostic. Spot the signs (humidity readings, visible mold on vents, aging compressors) and position a free site assessment with an ACR technician as the next step.
- Weekly: One check-in at the Bradenton office. Two daily phone check-ins with your manager. The rest of your time is in the field.
Compensation & Structure
- Commission: 40% of contract value
- Pay Schedule: Biweekly, paid upon deal close
- Classification: 1099 Independent Contractor
- Company Vehicle: Available after first 30 days, or gas card/mileage reimbursement
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
- 2 years of B2B or commercial sales experience
- Reliable personal vehicle and valid driver's license
- Smartphone — you'll use it daily for CRM, site documentation, and communication
- Ability to pass a background check (no criminal history)
- Comfortable operating independently in the field across a 50-mile radius of Bradenton
Backgrounds that translate well:
- Commercial HVAC or mechanical systems sales
- Property management (you already speak the language)
- Commercial insurance or restoration sales
- Industrial/construction supply (Grainger, Ferguson, roofing, etc.)
- B2B service sales — uniforms, waste management, security systems
The mindset we're hiring for:
- You lead with a diagnostic, not a price
- You're comfortable walking a hot rooftop or sitting in a property manager's office — sometimes on the same day
- You understand CAPEX vs. OPEX conversations and can explain ROI to a facilities director
- You don't need to be a licensed HVAC tech — but you need enough technical curiosity to ask the right questions
